My old friend
is today's guest. She is an accomplished travel writer whose work appears in major newspapers and magazines, including the San Francisco Chronicle and Bon Appetit. She is also the author of several travel books, including Secret California and Secret San Francisco, a guide to the weird, wonderful, and obscure. Currently, she serves as president of Bay Area Travel Writers. She's traveled the world and seen most of what this planet has to offer, and she has thoughts about what makes a place a home and what doesn't.
